Raid on Balata Refugee Camp, Settlers Torch Palestinian Homes near Hebron

Israeli occupation forces raided the Balata refugee camp in Nablus while illegal settlers burned Palestinian homes in southern Hebron.

Israeli Raid on Balata

Israeli occupation forces carried out a pre-dawn raid on Balata refugee camp east of Nablus on Wednesday.

Undercover Israeli units entered the camp before military reinforcements arrived from the Huwwara checkpoint and Jerusalem Street, the Anadolu news agency reported. 

Eyewitnesses said drones were flown overhead while heavy gunfire and explosions were heard across residential neighborhoods.

According to Anadolu, Israeli occupation forces surrounded a home inside the camp and detonated explosive devices at building entrances. 

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office said in a statement that Israeli occupation forces carried out additional arrest raids across the West Bank, detaining 18 Palestinians, including several teenagers, and damaging property during searches.

Settlers Burn Homes

In a separate development, illegal Israeli Jewish settlers carried out arson attacks in the village of Susiya in the Masafer Yatta area south of Hebron (Al-Khalil) on Tuesday night.

According to Al-Jazeera, dozens of illegal settlers stormed the village and set fire to five Palestinian homes and several vehicles. Residents described panic as flames spread and families attempted to contain the fires.

The report said settlers fired tear gas canisters into homes, causing injuries from suffocation, particularly among women and children.

Al-Jazeera also reported that illegal Israeli Jewish settlers attacked pastoral areas in southern Hebron, harassed shepherds, and released livestock near Palestinian homes. In the Nablus district, youths reportedly confronted settlers attempting to advance into land near Beita.
