Key Developments

  • Heavy close-range fighting continues as the Israeli advance stalls in the town.
  • Israeli media reports rising casualties, including critically wounded soldiers.
  • Resistance expands operations targeting military sites across northern Israel.

Israeli Force Hit in Bint Jbeil Ambush

Israeli occupation forces fell into a well-planned ambush in the southern Lebanese city of Bint Jbeil on Tuesday, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent.

The report stated that after Israeli troops entered a house, Hezbollah fighters detonated the building with the soldiers inside.

Israeli media confirmed that a “difficult security event” took place in south Lebanon.

Meanwhile, fierce confrontations continue in Bint Jbeil, where Lebanese Resistance fighters are engaging Israeli forces from elite units in close-range combat on the outskirts of the town’s old market.

Despite sustained airstrikes, artillery shelling, and attempts to impose a siege, Israeli forces have so far failed to secure a decisive breakthrough.

Field reports indicate that Israeli troops have been unable to reach key positions inside the city, including the municipal stadium.

Rising Israeli Casualties

Israeli media reported that the commander of Battalion 52 was seriously wounded during the fighting.

Additional reports indicate that at least ten soldiers from the Paratroopers Brigade were wounded in overnight clashes, including several in critical condition.

Helicopters have been seen evacuating wounded soldiers from the battlefield, with others transferred by ground.

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon announced a series of operations targeting Israeli military positions using drones.

Targets included artillery emplacements in Zaoura, the headquarters of an artillery battalion in Odem, and the Al-Fouran barracks in the occupied Syrian Golan.

Inside Lebanese territory, Resistance fighters continued to target Israeli troop concentrations and newly established positions across multiple axes.

Amal Movement Announces Fighter Killed

In a separate development, the Amal Movement announced on Monday that an 80-year-old Lebanese fighter, Muhammad Ahmad Diya, was killed while confronting Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.

Diya was killed in the town of Sir al-Gharbiyeh on April 13 during ongoing clashes, remaining on the front lines despite his age.

In its statement, the Amal Movement described him as a “mujahid” who fought “until his final breath”, pledging to remain committed to the path of resistance and defense of Lebanese land.

‘Capital of Resistance’

Bint Jbeil remains a central battlefield due to both its strategic location and symbolic significance.

The town overlooks key routes linking border areas to inland regions and has long served as a focal point of confrontations between Israeli forces and Lebanese resistance groups.

Often referred to as the “capital of the Resistance,” it has played a central role in previous conflicts, including the 2000 liberation of southern Lebanon and the 2006 war.
