The total number of Palestinians killed while trying to secure food aid is 2,523, with more than 18,496 others wounded, since May 27.
Sixty-one Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 65,344 since October 2023, Gaza’s Health Ministry announced on Monday.
A ministry statement said that 220 Palestinians were also injured in the past day, bringing the total injuries to 166,795.
“Many victims remain under the rubble and on the roads as rescue teams are unable to reach them,” the ministry added.

It noted that at least 12,785 people have been killed and 54,754 injured since March 18, when Israel resumed its attacks on the enclave after a brief ceasefire and prisoner swap.
The ministry also noted that 23 Palestinians were injured by Israeli army fire while seeking humanitarian aid over the past 24 hours. The total number of those killed while trying to secure food aid is 2,523, with more than 18,496 others wounded, since May 27.
Children’s and Eye Hospital Shut Down
The Ministry announced on Monday that Israeli bombardment around medical facilities has forced the shutdown of Al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital and Gaza City’s Eye Hospital, the only public eye-care center in the besieged enclave.
A ministry statement said Israeli strikes also destroyed the Medical Relief Society health center in Gaza City, the Anadolu news agency reported. It noted that Al-Rantisi Hospital had already suffered heavy damage in a direct strike days earlier.
Dr Nada Abu Al-Rub, an Australian doctor working in Gaza, says the situation inside the hospitals is like a slaughterhouse, beyond disastrous and catastrophic.

The ministry accused Israel of deliberately targeting the health system, calling it part of a “systematic policy” against medical services in the enclave.
Ongoing Bombardment
Authorities said patients and wounded face extreme difficulty reaching the Jordanian Field Hospital in southern Gaza and Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City because of ongoing bombardment and the lack of safe roads.
Farewell Under Fire: The Endless Displacement from Northern Gaza
The ministry appealed to the international community to intervene to protect medical facilities and staff.
Last week, the ministry said the Israeli army struck Al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital thrice while 80 patients were inside. According to the statement, the attacks targeted the hospital’s upper floors in three consecutive strikes spaced minutes apart.
Man-Made Famine
Since reneging on the ceasefire on March 18, Israel has continued its bloody aerial bombardment across the Gaza Strip, killing and wounding thousands of Palestinians.
Starting on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military, with American support, launched a genocidal war against the people of Gaza. This campaign has so far resulted in the deaths of more than 65,000 Palestinians, with more than 165,000 wounded. The vast majority of the population has been displaced, and the destruction of infrastructure is unprecedented since World War II. Thousands of people are still missing.

In addition to the military assault, the Israeli blockade has caused a man-made famine, leading to the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians—mostly children—with hundreds of thousands more at risk.
Despite widespread international condemnation, little has been done to hold Israel accountable. The nation is currently under investigation for genocide by the International Court of Justice, while accused war criminals, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, are officially wanted by the International Criminal Court.
