Israel Arrests 38 Palestinian Workers

Israeli police yesterday arrested 38 Palestinian workers claiming they entered the country without permits, Quds Press reported.

In a statement, the Israeli police said that the arrests took place during a search campaign in a number of cities and towns in the south of Israel.

The police said they arrested workers without permits and people hosted them, transported them and facilitated their entry to Israel.

According to the statement, the police would continue such campaigns across the country.

Palestinian officials said that the Israeli police have arrested hundreds of Palestinian workers in such arrest campaigns across Israel since the start of October.

Due to the difficult economic situation as a result of the strict Israeli security measures in the occupied West Bank, tens of thousands of Palestinian workers are obliged to put themselves in danger and infiltrate Israel to work.
