Israeli forces opened fire at Palestinians trying to reach their homes in the northern area, killing two and wounding more.

Two Palestinians were killed and others were injured when Israeli occupation forces opened fire at citizens who were trying to return to the northern Gaza Strip, soon after the start of the humanitarian truce on Friday morning, Al-Jazeera reported.

The wounded were reportedly moved to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah.

Soon after the beginning of the four-day humanitarian truce, on Friday morning, hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians began returning to their neighborhoods and homes in various areas of the Gaza Strip to inspect them.

The Israeli army, however, dropped leaflets throughout the southern region reading: “To the residents of the Gaza Strip, the war is not over yet. The humanitarian truce is temporary, and the northern area of the Gaza Strip is a war zone.”

“You must remain in the humanitarian area located in the south of the Strip and you must not go to the north,” the leaflet continued.

The Israeli army said that movement is only available “from north to south via the Salah al-Din Road,” warning that “returning to the north is forbidden and dangerous. Your fate and the fate of your families are in your hands.”

Until a humanitarian truce entered into force on Friday, November 24, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that over 14,854 Palestinians, including nearly 6,150 children, with another 36,000 wounded. 7,000 Palestinians are missing, including more than 4,700 women and children.

  1. The Israeli forces; the IDF and/or the Israeli settlers are scumbag terrorists. Hamas has come through all this with, almost, clean hands. While Israeli forces have admitted to murdering their own citizens. the world is behind Palestine. FINALLY ! but we should all be equally concerned with, what comes next. We can clearly see that the USA has only added to the chaos, arming and financing both sides: a common tactic they’ve used all over the world, since at least WW2. Palestine needs lots of help. As a US citizen i plan to keep doing all i can to help erase the damage my government has done. And, Rashida Tlaib was correct. MTG owes her an apology.

    • Thanks for that. I am with you. I have voted for Democrats since 1976 and because of Biden’s unwavering support for the Zionist fascists in Israel I will never vote for Democrats again. Also AIPAC and the ADL should be designated hate groups in the US. They are the scum driving US policy towards Israel.
