In a message posted on the social media platform X, Baghaei wrote that the United States and Israel had launched “an aggressive and baseless campaign against Iran by indiscriminately targeting Iranian cities.”
“In just one case, they targeted an elementary school in Minab, Hormozgan Province, killing and wounding dozens of innocent young girls,” he stated. “This is a blatant crime. The world must stand up to this great injustice. The UN Security Council must act now in accordance with its core responsibility under the Charter.”
Iranian officials described the attack as a direct strike on civilian infrastructure, demanding immediate international accountability.
Death Toll Climbs
IRNA reported that as of 15:45 local time, the death toll from the strike had risen to 51 students, with at least 60 others injured. The number of victims was said to be increasing as rescue teams continued operations.
Al Mayadeen confirmed that 51 students were killed and 60 wounded as a result of what it described as American–Israeli aggression targeting the school on Saturday.

Mohammad Radmehr, the administrative official of Minab in southern Iran, said relief and debris removal operations were still ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported that dozens of students remained trapped beneath the rubble in Hormozgan Province, although some had been rescued. The agency also noted that a nearby hospital sustained partial damage in the strike.
Separately, Mehr News Agency reported the deaths of two students in the Narmak area of Tehran following additional airstrikes.
US-Israeli Attack
The deadly school strike came hours after the United States and Israel carried out coordinated attacks targeting several Iranian provinces, marking a dramatic expansion of hostilities.
Iranian officials maintain that the campaign has included strikes on civilian areas, describing it as a violation of sovereignty and international law.

Tehran has repeatedly called on the United Nations Security Council to intervene, arguing that the targeting of civilian infrastructure — including educational institutions — represents a grave breach of international norms.
As rescue operations continue in Minab and casualty figures mount, the attack has intensified regional tensions and raised fears of further escalation.
