Tel Aviv has violated the truce more than 3,000 times, causing 280 deaths and 586 injuries, according to official figures.
The Lebanese army announced that six soldiers were killed and others wounded while a unit was working to dismantle an arms depot in the south of the country.
A military source, speaking to Agence France-Presse on condition of anonymity, said that “five soldiers were killed while removing unexploded ordnance and ammunition left over from the recent war inside a Hezbollah military facility.”
According to the official Lebanese National News Agency, munitions left over from the Israeli aggression on south Lebanon exploded near a Lebanese army engineering team.
The explosion took place while the team was dismantling shells in the area between the towns of Majdal Zoun and Zebqin in the Tyre district. The agency reported that there were casualties, including deaths, but did not provide further details.
The Lebanese army, in cooperation with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), has been dismantling Hezbollah military sites under the terms of the ceasefire agreement between the group and Israel.

The Lebanese presidency announced that Army Commander General Rodolphe Heikal briefed President Joseph Aoun on the circumstances of the explosion that killed several soldiers while they were dismantling unexploded Israeli ordnance in south Lebanon.
The presidency added that Aoun affirmed the soldiers who lost their lives in the explosion had sacrificed themselves for Lebanon.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also mourned the soldiers, stressing that the army would remain the nation’s protector.
In June, Salam stated that the Lebanese army had dismantled more than 500 weapons sites and depots in the area south of the Litani River — about 40 kilometers from the border — since the ceasefire came into effect.
Beginning on October 8, 2023, Israel launched an aggression against Lebanon that escalated into a full-scale war on September 23, 2024, resulting in more than 4,000 deaths and around 17,000 injuries.

“The presidency added that Aoun affirmed the soldiers who lost their lives in the explosion had sacrificed themselves for Lebanon.”
Bullshit. They were only serving US-zionist agenda in Lebanon. Where was this sham of an army when Zionists invaded Lebanon? How many bullets and shells did they fire as a response to zionist violations of the cease-fire? exactly 0. This “army” did not even respond when zionists were explicitly targeting its units. This “army” is as good as a lightly armed police force, which exactly is what the US want. US tried to do the same in Afghanistan but miserably failed. Hizb-Allah shall take the same stance as Taliban and reject disarmament at whatever cost.
