The border crossing has been closed and a state of alert declared in the border area.
Two Israelis were killed in a stabbing operation at the Allenby Bridge (Karameh) crossing between the occupied West Bank and Jordan on Thursday.
According to Israeli Army Radio, the suspect “crossed the border while driving an aid truck” and opened fire at point-blank range before stabbing two men.
The attacker, reportedly a Jordanian citizen, was subsequently “neutralized.”

Israel’s national ambulance service, MDA, said in a statement that two men, aged 20 and 60, were killed.
Border Area Shut
Following the stabbing, Israeli authorities completely closed the Allenby Bridge crossing and declared a state of alert in the border area.
The Israeli military confirmed that army forces from the Jordan Valley and Samaria Brigade are currently combing and cordoning off the city of Jericho, near the crossing, Al Jazeera Arabic reported.

Jordanian government spokesman Mohammad al-Momani said that the authorities are monitoring reports of a “security incident” on the other side of the Karameh Crossing and will announce any details as they become available.
Jordan’s Public Security announced the suspension of passenger traffic via the King Hussein Bridge after it was closed on the Israeli side.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the operation.
‘Heroic Operation’
However, the Al-Quds Brigades, in a statement, hailed “the heroic operation at the Karameh crossing,” which it said was “carried out by a brave man from the dear men of Jordan.”
“It is a natural response to the escalating and systematic crimes of the zionist enemy in Gaa, the West Bank, and occupied Al-Quds,” the Palestinian Resistance group added.

“The death of zionist enemy officers and soldiers today … is nothing but conclusive proof that they are criminal strangers on this blessed land, and that they are destined to vanish, and that resistance is the choice of our nation,” the group stated.
The Allenby Crossing is the Israeli name for the crossing, known as the Karameh Crossing to Palestinians and the King Hussein Bridge to Jordan. The crossing is an important transit point for trade between Jordan and Israel.
Ongoing Genocide
In September 2024, a Jordanian truck driver attacked the Allenby Crossing, killing three Israeli security personnel. The three were working to inspect trucks at the bridge, which is under full Israeli control. The attack led to the closure of the crossing for two days.
Gaza City in Total Blackout as Israel Cuts Internet, Escalates Bombardment
Starting on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military, with American support, launched a genocidal war against the people of Gaza. This campaign has so far resulted in the deaths of more than 65,000 Palestinians, with more than 165,000 wounded. The vast majority of the population has been displaced, and the destruction of infrastructure is unprecedented since World War II. Thousands of people are still missing.
