Ministry of Interior: 4961 Newborn Babies in Gaza in August

The Ministry of Interior in the Gaza Strip has revealed that 4961 newborn babies were registered in August. According to the Ministry 160 babies, on average, were born per day during the month.

The Ministry further revealed that 1297 newborns were registered in Gaza city while 1190 newborns were registered in Khan Younis city.

The office of the Ministry in the Northern Governorate of Gaza registered 945 newborns during August, the Middle Area office of Gaza registered 917 newborns, and the officer of Rafah city registered 612 newborns during the same period.

According to the Ministry, 265 deaths were reported across the Gaza Strip in August, with nine deaths per day.

The number of newborns in the Gaza Strip in August increased by 527 births compared to July which saw the births of 4434 babies.

The population of the Gaza Strip currently stands at nearly two million Palestinians.
