In the past two years of Israel’s genocidal military operation in Gaza, the group said it had carried out a total of 758 operations.

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Thursday the killing of its Chief of Staff, Major General Mohammad Abd al-Karim al-Ghamari, during Israeli airstrikes on the country.

In a statement, the armed forces, affiliated with the Ansarallah movement, said Major General Muhammad Abdul Karim al-Ghamari was killed, along with his 13-year-old son, Hussein, and a number of colleagues. It did not specify when the killings occurred.

“They achieved great honor by shedding their blood in this honorable battle against the Israeli enemy,” the statement said. “His pure soul ascended while he was engaged in his jihadi work and performing his faithful duty, a blessed martyr among the convoy of great martyrs on the path to Al-Quds.”

‘Large Number of Martyrs’

The statement noted that in its two years of support for the Palestinian people against Israeli occupation and its genocidal assault on Gaza, “a large number of great martyrs—civilians and military personnel from the naval forces, ground forces, missile forces, the Prime Minister and his fellow ministers, and various members of the Yemeni people—have ascended within the framework of the Battle of the Promised Conquest and the Sacred Jihad.”

The group said it has been “at the forefront of this people, serving as the spearhead in support operations and engaging in direct battles with the criminal zionist enemy.”

758 Operations in Two Years

In the past two years of Israel’s genocidal military operation in Gaza, the group had carried out a total of 758 operations, “executed using 1,835 ballistic, winged, hypersonic missiles, drones, and naval boats.”

It said the Naval Forces carried out 346 operations against Israeli ships and those violating the Yemeni ban on Israeli navigation, “extending from the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean, during which more than 228 vessels were targeted.”

Gaza Will Not Forget, Palestine Will Remember

In addition, its air defenses were able to shoot down 22 American MQ-9 reconnaissance aircraft, launch 40 interception operations “against enemy aircraft of various formations, including strategic bombers, using more than (57) missiles, thwarting a number of aggressive operations and forcing many of the enemy’s war formations to leave, by the grace and help of Allah.”

The group vowed tthat the “rounds of conflict” with Israel “have not ended, and the zionist enemy will receive the retribution it deserves for the crimes it has committed” in the Gaza Strip.

Close to 68,000 Killed

Starting on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military, with American support, launched a genocidal war against the people of Gaza. This campaign has so far resulted in the deaths of close to 68,000 Palestinians, with more than 170,000 wounded. The vast majority of the population has been displaced, and the destruction of infrastructure is unprecedented since World War II. Thousands of people are still missing.

In addition to the military assault, the Israeli blockade has caused a man-made famine, leading to the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians—mostly children—with hundreds of thousands more at risk.

Despite widespread international condemnation, little has been done to hold Israel accountable. The nation is currently under investigation for genocide by the International Court of Justice, while accused war criminals, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, are officially wanted by the International Criminal Court.
