Senior Hezbollah figures said resistance remains Lebanon’s defense against occupation and warned against normalization efforts.

Key Developments

  • Senior Hezbollah officials said resistance remains essential to confronting Israeli aggression in Lebanon.
  • Mohammad Raad warned against efforts aimed at imposing submission through war and pressure.
  • Hezbollah lawmakers rejected normalization and cautioned against foreign-backed alternatives to the resistance.

Raad Defends Resistance Role

Senior Hezbollah officials defended the role of the Resistance in Lebanon and warned against regional and international efforts aimed at weakening it, amid continuing Israeli attacks and tensions in southern Lebanon.

The statements came as political and military pressure surrounding Lebanon and the Resistance continued to intensify amid ongoing ceasefire violations and hostilities in the south.

Mohammad Raad, head of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, praised on Friday what he described as the steadfastness of the Lebanese people and their support for Palestine and anti-colonial movements.

Raad said support for the Palestinian cause and opposition to Israeli occupation reflected deeply rooted convictions among the Lebanese people.

Speaking about the war and conditions in southern Lebanon, Raad said residents were facing severe attacks aimed at breaking their will through the destruction of villages and displacement.

He argued that Resistance weapons remain the principal obstacle preventing the consolidation of Israeli occupation.

Raad also warned of what he described as coordinated international, regional and local efforts intended to pressure the population into submission. He said destruction and displacement would not secure stability for Israel nor establish lasting control over Lebanese territory.

Rejecting Normalization

Raad stressed that the Resistance was carrying out what he described as a national and moral duty in defending Lebanon.

He also rejected political alternatives centered on Washington or normalization efforts with Israel.

“An alliance with America, the sponsor of terrorism, or normalization with the racist Zionists will not protect the region,” Raad said.

He further criticized figures he accused of placing personal or political interests above national concerns and warned against relying on international promises.

Hezbollah Warns against ‘Proxy Forces’

Raad’s comments followed earlier remarks by Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah.

Fadlallah called on Lebanese authorities to reject what he described as humiliating negotiations and warned against attempts to establish proxy forces to confront the Resistance.

He said Hezbollah would confront such forces in the same manner it confronts Israel if such efforts materialized.

The statements come as fighting and Israeli attacks continue across southern Lebanon, where the Resistance says its operations remain a response to ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement reached in April.
