Key Developments

  • Israeli media reported that a Hezbollah ambush killed an Israeli officer in southern Lebanon.
  • Hezbollah announced multiple drone and artillery operations targeting Israeli troops and military equipment.
  • Israeli media reported a proposal involving a US-supervised mechanism focused on Hezbollah’s disarmament.

Deadly Ambush near Qouzah

An Israeli officer was killed in southern Lebanon after a Hezbollah fighter carried out a close-range ambush operation, according to Israeli media reports, as the Resistance announced a series of drone and artillery attacks targeting Israeli forces across the border area.

The developments came amid growing Israeli acknowledgment of mounting battlefield pressure in southern Lebanon and reports of proposals linked to post-war security arrangements.

Israeli Army Radio reported that a Hezbollah operative opened fire on an Israeli officer in the Qouzah area of southern Lebanon, killing him instantly before withdrawing from the scene.

Israel’s KAN Channel reported that the operation took place only 2.5 kilometers from the border in an area under Israeli military control.

Maariv said gunfire was heard during the ambush near the Zar’it settlement, while Channel 14 described developments in southern Lebanon as “a very difficult day.”

The reported operation marked another indication of Hezbollah’s ability to carry out attacks against Israeli forces in areas where troops remain deployed.

Hezbollah Announces New Operations

Meanwhile, Hezbollah announced a series of operations targeting Israeli troops and military infrastructure across southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese resistance movement said fighters targeted an Israeli Drone Dome jamming device in Rashaf with a dive-bombing operation, achieving what it described as a confirmed hit.

Resistance fighters also announced targeting a gathering of Israeli occupation vehicles and soldiers at Randa height in Naqoura with artillery shells.

At 6:25 PM, Hezbollah said a squadron of attack drones targeted Israeli vehicles and troops near the port of Naqoura.

Minutes later, another drone strike reportedly targeted occupation vehicles in the Iskenderun area.

The Resistance also announced targeting an Israeli military bulldozer east of the Khiam detention center.

The operations reflected Hezbollah’s continued reliance on drones and coordinated attacks that Israeli media have increasingly identified as a major challenge on the battlefield.

Proposal Targets Hezbollah Disarmament

As military confrontations continued, Israeli media reported new details related to political negotiations involving Lebanon.

i24 reported that Israel proposed creating a joint military operations room under American supervision, intended to facilitate Hezbollah’s disarmament.

The proposal emerged amid ongoing discussions regarding ceasefire arrangements and the future military landscape in southern Lebanon.

Elsewhere, Al Mayadeen reported Israeli artillery shelling targeting Zawtar al-Sharqiyah in southern Lebanon.

An Israeli airstrike also targeted Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the US Vice President said Washington saw an opportunity to reshape relations with Iran following decades of tensions, though he acknowledged negotiations might not succeed.

He said President Donald Trump’s authorization of talks reflected what he described as American “good-faith intentions.”

  1. “He said President Donald Trump’s authorization of talks reflected what he described as American “good-faith intentions.””

The only intentions of Washington are to subjugate and loot Iran and any other country that take pride in their culture, lands and sovereignty. That’s a fact backed by decades of proof.
