The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Palestine today announced in a press conference held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Ramallah the results of high school examinations in Palestine.

The Ministry has stated that the overall pass-rate this year has reached 64.66%. The percentage of those passed in the Science subjects has increased to 85.36%, while in the Arts subjects the percentage has increased to 58.89%. Literacy among Palestinians is estimated at 96.7%.

16 high school Palestinian students were killed at the hands of the Israeli army in the West Bank. The announcement of today’s results has thus touched on wounds of many families.

High schools exams are of great importance in Palestine, as Palestinian families depend on education to a large extent.
