The UN Human Rights Office confirmed last week that up until the end of September, 103 civilians have been killed in Lebanon since the ceasefire.
A married couple was killed, and at least one other person was injured in an Israeli drone strike on a vehicle in south Lebanon on Monday, amid continued Israeli ceasefire violations.
According to the Beirut-based Al Mayadeen, the strike targeted a civilian vehicle in the town of Zebdine, located in the Nabatieh District, killing a man and his wife and injuring another person.

The report noted that the attack was yet another breach of Lebanon’s sovereignty and of the ceasefire agreement signed on November 27, 2024.
Lebanese state media reported that the strike, executed with two guided missiles, killed Hassan Atwi, who was visually impaired due to a previous injury, and his wife Zeinab Raslan, who was driving the car. The couple’s two children had been killed at the onset of the “Support Front War” with Israel, the report stated.
Israeli warplanes also carried out a series of airstrikes on the heights overlooking the town of Zghrin in the Hermel border region of eastern Lebanon, according to Al Mayadeen.
Despite the truce, the Israeli army continues to carry out air, sea, and ground assaults across southern Lebanon, targeting residential areas, vehicles, and agricultural land. These attacks, which have intensified in recent weeks, the report stated.

UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk last week urged renewed efforts to bring a permanent end to hostilities in Lebanon, saying the continued suffering inflicted on the population despite an agreed ceasefire, including the killing of over 100 civilians in the past 10 months, is tragic and must stop.
“We are still seeing devastating impacts of jet and drone strikes in residential areas, as well as near UN peacekeepers in the south,” Türk said.
“Today, families are simply unable to make a start on rebuilding their homes and their lives, and instead are faced by the real and present danger of more strikes. Hundreds of damaged schools, health facilities, places of worship, among other civilian sites, are still no-go zones, or at best, only partly useable,” he added.
Over 80,000 Displaced
The office stated that since the ceasefire of 27 November 2024, the Lebanese Armed Forces say Israel has committed thousands of violations of the agreement, including alleged attacks on civilians and home demolitions; “while the Israeli occupation army has been quoted as confirming hundreds of airstrikes on what it claims were Hezbollah targets.”

More than 80,000 people remain displaced in Lebanon as a result of the ongoing violence, Türk added, saying the situation for migrants and refugees, already living in dire conditions before the conflict, has deteriorated further.
Al Mayadeen reported that Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem condemned both the Israeli violations and US pressure, asserting that Lebanon must “raise the issue of repeated aggression in every government session” and focus on reconstruction and sovereignty rather than foreign dictates.
