Israeli forces launched renewed shelling and air strikes across southern and central Gaza despite the ceasefire agreement, killing civilians and deepening the already catastrophic humanitarian crisis.
Israeli occupation forces launched renewed artillery shelling and heavy helicopter fire early Monday, targeting eastern areas of Rafah and Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, beyond what is known as the “yellow line”.
Al-Jazeera reported that both artillery and air strikes hit eastern Khan Yunis inside the same zone.
Emergency and ambulance services confirmed that a young Palestinian man was killed by Israeli gunfire near the yellow line in the Zeitoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City, an area outside Israel’s declared military control.

Local outlets also reported that Israeli forces opened fire toward tents sheltering displaced families near the Austrian neighborhood west of Khan Yunis, while artillery bombardment struck eastern Rafah, an area currently under Israeli military control.
Israeli occupation aircraft also launched an air raid targeting the eastern side of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, in the central part of the Strip.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from Israel’s war of extermination since October 7, 2023, has reached 70,103 Palestinians killed and 170,985 wounded.

Since the ceasefire agreement took effect on October 10, Israeli attacks have killed 356 Palestinians and wounded 908 others, while the bodies of 607 more have been recovered, according to the ministry.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Israeli occupation military redeployed beyond the yellow line, which places more than half of the Gaza Strip under Israeli control.
However, since the deal went into effect, more than two years after the genocide began, Israel has continued to violate the terms on a near-daily basis, carrying out attacks across the Strip as civilians endure a deepening humanitarian crisis caused by widespread destruction and ongoing military aggression.
