Israeli airstrikes wound civilians and damage hospitals as Hezbollah intensifies attacks and humanitarian conditions worsen across Lebanon.

Key Developments

  • Israeli strikes hit Tyre, Maarakeh and Beirut suburbs, injuring civilians and medics.
  • Two key bridges destroyed in Bekaa, disrupting vital civilian infrastructure.
  • Hezbollah escalates operations as displacement and humanitarian crisis deepen.

Israeli Strikes Hit Civilians, Medical Facilities

Israeli airstrikes intensified across southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs late Friday into Saturday, causing civilian injuries and damaging critical infrastructure.

In the Tyre district, two airstrikes on al-Housh injured at least 11 people, including three Civil Defense paramedics, while the Lebanese Italian Hospital sustained damage but remained operational, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

Additional strikes on the town of Maarakeh injured around 10 residents, while raids also targeted surrounding areas in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese Health Minister Rakan Nasser al-Din said dozens of paramedics and healthcare workers have been injured in direct Israeli attacks, with multiple medical facilities and ambulances damaged in recent days.

Al-Jazeera reported that Israeli warplanes also carried out raids on Beirut’s southern suburbs and areas around Tyre, expanding the scope of attacks into densely populated zones.

Bridges Destroyed, Infrastructure Targeted

Israeli strikes also hit key infrastructure in eastern Lebanon. According to Al-Jazeera, Israeli warplanes destroyed two bridges over the Litani River linking the towns of Sahmar and Mashghara in the Western Bekaa Valley. The Lebanese National News Agency confirmed both bridges were struck and rendered unusable.

The crossings are considered vital to daily life in the region, serving as key links within the local road network.

Elsewhere, Israeli raids targeted towns including Srifa, Qounine and areas near Burj al-Shamali, with a massive fire reported following one of the strikes in Srifa.

Hezbollah Escalates Multi-Front Operations

In response, Hezbollah announced a new wave of coordinated operations targeting Israeli forces and settlements across northern occupied Palestine.

According to Al Mayadeen, the group carried out dozens of operations, including drone strikes on the Liman barracks near Nahariya and rocket barrages targeting Kiryat Shmona, Metula and Mount Neria base.

Hezbollah also reported targeting Israeli troop gatherings and vehicles in multiple locations, including Maroun al-Ras and Ainata, and said it struck a Merkava tank in Houla with a guided missile, setting it ablaze.

Israeli media reported that rockets launched from Lebanon struck buildings in Nahariya and the Western Galilee, causing material damage, while a drone exploded inside a house in Metula.

‘Shocking’ Humanitarian Crisis

The continued Israeli offensive is driving a worsening humanitarian crisis.

The International Organization for Migration warned that more than one million people have been displaced across Lebanon, with many forced into overcrowded shelters lacking basic services.

IOM Director General Amy Pope described the situation as “shocking,” noting that even humanitarian facilities, including the organization’s own headquarters in Beirut, have been affected by Israeli strikes.

“Without urgent international support, far too many people risk being left without the help they need,” Pope said.

  1. Since when are schools and hospitals legitimate targets? Since everyone gave power to Israelica.
The Jewish Nazis are ruining the world.
Maybe it’s time to forcefully dissolve those Occupying Palestine. Then we need to clean out Congress, and start from scratch. Keep 5 or 6 who actually try to change things for the better, then fill it with all new people, that WE choose.
