The head of the Left Bloc in the Portuguese Parliament told Al-Jazeera that the government will not allow Israeli ships to cross Portuguese waters, expressing hope that her country would impose sanctions on Israel.

Meanwhile, Israel continues its land and air attacks targeting civilians, while amassing troops around Gaza City.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has killed 61,776 and injured 154,906 others, the majority of whom are women and children, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
