Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank as official figures documented 4,914 assaults from 2026 through August.

Key Developments

  • Armed Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian homes, residents and agricultural land across Nablus, Ramallah, Salfit and Hebron.
  • The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented 4,914 settler attacks between January and the end of August.
  • During August alone, 164 Palestinians were harmed and 21,508 trees were damaged or uprooted in settler attacks.

Illegal Israeli settlers carried out a series of attacks against Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank during the previous 24 hours, according to Al Mayadeen.

In the Nablus governorate, settlers attacked Palestinian homes in the al-Dhahra area of Beita, south of Nablus.

Other settlers, some of them armed, entered Palestinian land in Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah.

In Al-Mazraa al-Gharbiya, also northwest of Ramallah, an armed settler entered Palestinian-owned land and began bulldozing and vandalizing the area.

Settlers also released livestock onto agricultural land between Silwad and Yabrud, northeast of Ramallah, threatening cultivated areas and the livelihoods of their Palestinian owners.

Armed settlers entered the outskirts of Burqa, east of Ramallah, while another group attacked Palestinian homes in Yasuf, east of Salfit.

In the southern occupied West Bank, settlers assaulted a Palestinian woman in the al-Markaz area of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron. The attacks coincided with intensified incursions in occupied Jerusalem.

Nearly 5,000 Attacks Documented

Figures from the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, carried by the Sanad news agency, showed that Israeli settlers conducted 4,286 attacks during the first seven months of 2026.

This represented a 63-percent increase compared with the corresponding period of 2025.

Another 628 settler attacks were documented during August, bringing the total recorded between January and the end of August to 4,914.

Ramallah and al-Bireh recorded the largest number of attacks during August, with 157 incidents. Nablus followed with 137 attacks, while 120 were recorded in Hebron.

The commission also documented 73 attacks in Bethlehem, 40 in Tubas, 36 in Jenin and 31 in Jerusalem during the same month.

Olive Trees Targeted

The commission said 164 Palestinians were injured in settler attacks during August, including 20 children and 17 women.

Settler vandalism and uprooting operations also affected 21,508 trees, including 19,375 olive trees.

The attacks targeted Palestinian homes, farmland, trees and other sources of livelihood across multiple areas of the occupied West Bank.

Hani al-Dali, Al Mayadeen’s resistance affairs analyst, warned that the continuing violence could lead to a much wider escalation.

“The West Bank is on the verge of a comprehensive explosion and may reach a flood in the face of the occupation,” al-Dali said.
