Six Palestinians were killed inside the Yellow Line as Hamas accused Israel of violating the ceasefire by pursuing and targeting fighters in Rafah tunnels.

Six Palestinians were killed on Wednesday by Israeli army fire in areas extending within what is known as the Yellow Line in the Gaza Strip, while the occupation forces claimed to have killed fighters and detained two others in Rafah, in the southern part of the Strip.

In the latest developments in the ongoing targeting of civilians in Gaza, despite the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, a medical source at Al-Aqsa Hospital announced the death of a Palestinian in an Israeli bombing of the Maghazi camp.

A medical source at Nasser Hospital also reported that a Palestinian was killed and another injured in an Israeli raid on the town of Bani Suheila in Khan Yunis, inside the Yellow Line.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that he had ordered the army to “destroy and wipe out” all Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip “down to the last one.”

In a statement posted on the X platform, Katz said, “If there are no tunnels, there will be no Hamas.” He reiterated that the so-called “disarmament of Gaza” includes the complete elimination of the tunnel network, describing the issue as a “central priority in the yellow zone under Israeli control,” which represents approximately 53 percent of the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas condemned the Israeli pursuit and killing of its fighters trapped in Rafah tunnels, describing it as a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hamas said that the “pursuit, liquidation, and arrest of the Mujahideen besieged in the tunnels of Rafah” serves as conclusive evidence of ongoing attempts to undermine and destroy the ceasefire.

Hamas added that it had engaged over the past month with political leaders and mediators to resolve the situation and facilitate the return of the fighters to their homes, presenting what it described as specific proposals and mechanisms to do so.

It stated that these efforts were carried out in coordination with mediators and the US administration, one of the declared guarantors of the ceasefire, but said that Israel had “thwarted all these efforts,” choosing instead “the language of killing, crime, persecution and arrest.”

The movement held Israel fully responsible for the fate of its members and called on mediators to “take urgent action to pressure the occupation” to allow the men to return, describing them as “a unique example of sacrifice, heroism and patience, and a symbol of the dignity and freedom of the Palestinian people.”

These developments come as Gaza continues to face an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe following the war launched by Israel on October 7, 2023. The ongoing assault has resulted in more than 68,000 deaths and over 170,000 wounded, in addition to the destruction of nearly 90 percent of the Strip’s infrastructure and a famine that has claimed the lives of hundreds.
