Spain and Italy have deployed naval ships to support the Global Sumud Flotilla as it challenges Israel’s blockade of Gaza, following drone harassment and threats of interception.
Spain and Italy have both deployed naval vessels to support the Global Sumud Flotilla, the large humanitarian fleet attempting to break Israel’s blockade on the Gaza Strip.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez confirmed on Wednesday that a naval vessel would depart Cartagena “equipped with all the necessary resources” to assist the flotilla if rescues or support became necessary.
The move came in coordination with Italy, which has now dispatched two navy ships.
Breaking | Spain has announced that the vessel supporting the Global Sumud Flotilla will be the Furor P-46, a Spanish Navy high-seas patrol ship.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto told parliament on Thursday: “We have sent one ship and another is on its way, ready for any eventuality.”
A first Italian frigate set sail on Wednesday, shortly after the flotilla reported being attacked in international waters by drones that dropped stun grenades and itching powder about 30 nautical miles off the Greek island of Gavdos.
The flotilla’s organizers accused Israel of carrying out the assaults, which also included communications jamming and harassment. They reported that nine vessels were targeted in 12 separate incidents, though no injuries were caused.
The Global Sumud Flotilla—made up of some 50 civilian boats carrying lawyers, activists, and public figures, including Swedish climate campaigner Greta Thunberg—left Barcelona last month. Its mission is to challenge the blockade that has choked off essential supplies to Gaza, worsening famine conditions.

On Tuesday, the Israeli government warned it would intercept the flotilla unless it docked in an Israeli port and handed over its cargo for inspection and redistribution. Organizers condemned the demand, saying it was not about facilitating aid but about extending the siege by delaying or blocking relief.
Crosetto also cautioned the activists, urging them to accept an Italian proposal to deliver their supplies to Gaza via the local Catholic Church, warning: “We cannot guarantee the safety of our fellow citizens if they enter the territorial waters of other countries.”
As of Thursday, flotilla organizers said their ships were moving slowly through Greek waters and had faced “moderate drone activity” overnight before preparing to head into international waters.

They are attempting to enter the territorial waters of Palestine from international waters – Israel has no right to stop them when Palestinian authorities welcome them ..
As for the Catholic Church – put some Cardinals on board that flotilla …
Excellent!! By all means, pray, but deliver the aid to Palestine!
Yes, place some Cardinals and Bishops
What kind of people go to these extremes in order to facilitate such a cruel and utterly evil outcome? Answer: creatures who say they are jews but are not jews! They truly are, as Jesus told their spiritual, not blood related ancestors, sons of the devil! God bless and keep all those who have the guts to do what governments have the duty to do, but are not! To hell with Israel!
Bravo Spain and Italy! While the US military is busy sinking Venezuelan fishing boats, you are standing with the truly honorable and brave. jews are notorious cowards! They are used to shooting at people who can’t shoot back!
Blessings on Spain and Italy for doing God’s work in the world.
