Two Palestinian gunmen from Hebron in the West Bank gunmen killed four people at a shopping and restaurant area in Tel Aviv on Wednesday. Both gunmen were apprehended, and one was wounded.

Mohamed and Khaled Makhamrah, from the Hebron area have been arrested, one with a gun wound, ABC News reported.

A Palestinian intifada has been underway for some months, with Palestinians retaliating against oppressive Israeli occupation. In this incident, Reuters reported that the two men opened fire, killing four people and wounding six others.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had just returned from a visit to Moscow, described the attack as “cold-blooded murder.”

“We held a consultation about the series of offensive and defensive measures that we will implement to act against the grave phenomenon of shootings. They certainly challenge us, but we will provide an answer,” Netanyahu told reporters.

The U.S. State Department condemned the attack in “the strongest possible terms”, with no regard however for Palestinians who have been under attack by Israeli forces, with regular killings of Palestinians, even in execution style, as in the case of Abd-al-Fattah al-Shaarif and Ramzi al-Qaswari, as reported by the Palestine Chronicle.

In the last six months, Israeli forces have shot dead at least 196 Palestinians.

Micky Rosenfeld, superintendent of the Israel Police tweeted that Tel Aviv was under “heightened security” following the attack.
