Despite declaring that Israel “smashed the Iran axis,” Netanyahu conceded Hamas remains, underscoring Israel’s failure to achieve its stated goals.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel is “close to ending the war” in the Gaza Strip, “but not there yet.” He made the statement in an interview with US political commentator and strong supporter of Israel Ben Shapiro, aired on Monday evening.

Netanyahu claimed that the October 7, 2023, resistance operation launched against Israel “was the worst atrocities committed on Jews since the holocaust,” adding “everybody thought Israel was doomed.”

Two years later, however, he claimed Israel has “smashed the Iran axis, smashed most of its proxies.”

He said Hamas was “not finished yet, but we’ll get there,” and also claimed Hezbollah and Syria were “gone,” as well as having taken aim at “the Houthis, who are threatening the entire world and maritime shipping.”

The prime minister further claimed that Israel “smashed Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile program,” although it was “still there, but rolled it back with President Trump’s help.”

“Israel emerged from this horrible day as the strongest power in the Middle East, but we still have things to do to complete the victory,” Netanyahu said.

Officially wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crimes committed in the besieged enclave, he said that “what started in Gaza will end in Gaza with the release” of the hostages and “the end of Hamas rule and its territory.”

He also said Israel has “done the job of defending ourselves pretty well over the last 77 years.”

Iran ‘Developing Ballistic Missiles’

Netanyahu went on to claim that Iran was developing “intercontinental ballistic missiles armed with nuclear warheads to attack” American cities.

“That’s what Iran was doing. We just knocked out Iran,” but with the US president’s “very judicious and pointed assistance, it didn’t start World War III.”

He said, “We achieved this neutralization of Iran, which could blackmail every American city” without putting boots on the ground or “thousands of Americans” having to die or “go to Iran.”

Netanyahu then stated, “Iran is developing now ballistic missiles that are intercontinental ballistic missiles for 8,000 km range. What does that mean? They add another 3,000 km and they’ve got under their gun, under their atomic guns, the New York City in target, Washington, Boston, Miami, Mar-a-Lago.”

He claimed, “I think Israel has played a very important part in pushing that threat away.”

‘Most Advanced Weapons on Planet’

The premier also said that Israel had developed “the most advanced offensive weapons on the planet” and shared it with the US.

“So Israel helps with offensive and defensive technologies, but also Israel helps with intel,” he added.

Israel Not Only Ignored Trump, It Has Never Respected a Ceasefire Agreement

Netanyahu stressed that Israel “is the one fighting ally” that the US “that is able to defend itself by itself but also shares with you the products of our technical capacities and sometimes technical and intelligence genius and we’re happy to do it because we believe in America.”

Asked about his relationship with President Trump, Netanyahu said,  “it’s in private quite warm, “ but that “doesn’t mean that we agree on everything.”

Abraham Accords

On the future of the Abraham Accords, which was expected to receive growing support before October 7, Netanyahu seemed confident.

“I think we can expand the Abrahamic Accords. I think we can have more peace agreements. I think we can have them not only in the Middle East but with the Islamic world beyond the Middle East,” he claimed. “But I think first you have to finish the job. You have to finish the Gaza war, which I hope to do very soon with President Trump’s help.”

Cautious Progress in Sharm el-Sheikh Talks on Gaza Ceasefire and Israeli Withdrawal

However, he added, “We can’t get it over with and leave Hamas there in power, aiming its rockets at us. That’s not getting it over with.”
The prime minister said Israel has to “get Hamas out of power in Gaza” and also “make sure that Gaza never
again poses a threat to Israel or to the peace of the region and the world. And I think that’s possible.”

Ongoing Genocide

On Saturday, Trump called on Israel to immediately halt its bombing of the Gaza Strip, following Hamas’s positive response to his plan for Gaza.

Earlier Monday evening, indirect meetings began between Hamas and an Israeli delegation in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheik to discuss preparing the ground conditions and establishing a mechanism for a prisoner exchange in accordance with the Trump plan.

Two Years of Genocide in Gaza, Seventy-Seven Years of Denial

Starting on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military, with American support, launched a genocidal war against the people of Gaza. This campaign has so far resulted in the deaths of more than 67,000 Palestinians, with more than 169,000 wounded. The vast majority of the population has been displaced, and the destruction of infrastructure is unprecedented since World War II. Thousands of people are still missing.

In addition to the military assault, the Israeli blockade has caused a man-made famine, leading to the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians—mostly children—with hundreds of thousands more at risk.

Despite widespread international condemnation, little has been done to hold Israel accountable. The nation is currently under investigation for genocide by the International Court of Justice, while accused war criminals, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, are officially wanted by the International Criminal Court.

  1. Wicked let down by Ben; one of the smartest people ever born, but his devotion to Judaism has clouded his mind. Nazinyahu isn’t religious at all, and he’s a Zionist who is mocking Judaists by his exploitation of Jewry. After October 7, Ben changed. He grew a goatee and scowls at the camera now. Yet another casualty of religion.
    This feels very MK Ultra…
