Israeli authorities released, on late Thursday, a 20-year-old Palestinian female prisoner after 15 months of imprisonment. According to local sources, Israeli authorities released Amira Taqatqa, 20, after she ended her 15-month sentence in Israeli prisons.

Sources added that upon her release, Amira paid a financial bail of 4,000 shekels ($1,102). It is noteworthy that Amira, a resident from the southern occupied West Bank district of Bethlehem, was detained on August 2, 2017.

She remained for four months in Israeli detention before being sentenced by the Israeli military court to 15 months in prison. According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,781 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, of whom 65 are female prisoners.
