Suhair Zaqout, the spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip, said family visits of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails have been canceled due to Jewish holidays.

She added, “There are no scheduled visits for the families of Gaza’s prisoners due to the Jewish holidays.”

She noted, “Canceling family visits for Gaza’s prisoners is common among prisoners and their families every year during the Jewish holidays.”

Family visits of Palestinian prisoners from Gaza in Israeli jails usually take place on Mondays, in coordination with the ICRC.

Families of prisoners are often humiliated and wait for long hours before they get to see their relatives, with them sometimes being they strip-searched.
