Israeli Forces Arrest at least 70 Palestinians in Occupied West Bank

The PPS said the Israeli forces detained around 540 Palestinians in raids across the occupied West Bank since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7.

Israeli occupation forces continued their mass detention campaign in raids across the occupied West Bank on Sunday night and Monday morning, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

At least 70 people, including two journalists, were detained, the majority of whom were in the Hebron governorate.

Five people were detained in Tulkarm governorate, including a 65-year-old man. Three people in Nablus governorate, and seven in the Ramallah governorate, including journalist Mustafa Khawaja who was detained in a raid at his home in Nilin town.

Four other Palestinians were detained in Qarawat Bani Hassan, near Salfit, and ten in the Bethlehem district, including 36-year-old journalist Muath Amarneh, who lost an eye from an Israeli army bullet while covering confrontations in Bethlehem three years ago.

Three Palestinians were also detained in Jericho and five people in occupied East Jerusalem, including two minors.
