Torrential rain has flooded the makeshift camps where thousands of displaced Palestinian families are sheltering, compounding an already dire humanitarian crisis across the Gaza Strip.

As conditions worsen on the ground, US officials say negotiations over the second phase of the Gaza agreement are making “progress,” despite persistent disputes and ongoing Israeli violations.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has killed 70,360 and injured 171,047 others, the majority of whom are women and children, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
