Palestinian Succumbs to Wounds Suffered during Gaza Offensive

A Palestinian man from Gaza died Friday in a Jerusalem hospital of wounds sustained during the Israeli offensive on Gaza over the summer.

Arafat Suheil Tafish, 32, died at al-Makased hospital on Friday afternoon after sustaining injuries from Israeli shelling in the Shujaiyya neighborhood of Gaza City some two months ago, medical sources said.

As a result of the shelling, Tafish’s leg was severed and he was suffering from internal bleeding in his stomach. He was being treated in the hospital’s intensive care unit prior to his passing.

More than, 2,150 Palestinians were killed during the offensive, which also left more than 11,000 injured and 100,000 homeless.

Since the end of hostilities in late August, more than two dozen of those who were severely injured have since perished.
