Israeli incursion into Al-Asha village is met with resident refusal of ‘aid’; Damascus urges UN intervention following deadly clashes and sovereignty violations.

A patrol of six Israeli occupation military vehicles, originating from the Western Tell Ahmar base, made an incursion into the village of Al-Asha in the Quneitra countryside. This provocation comes amid high tension in southern Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights noted that Israeli soldiers attempted to sway residents by offering humanitarian aid, including food baskets and heating materials like diesel fuel. However, the villagers firmly refused to accept any of the materials offered by the occupation forces.

The patrol subsequently withdrew from the area toward the occupied territories without any direct engagement or clashes with the local population.

This latest incursion follows intense confrontations that occurred on Friday in the town of Beit Jann, in the western Damascus countryside. Israeli occupation forces had reportedly entered the town to arrest ‘wanted’ young men, leading to resistance from residents before the forces eventually withdrew, leaving behind a military vehicle.

The shelling and clashes in Beit Jann resulted in the killing of 13 people, according to reports from Syrian sources.

Other sources claimed that the Israeli aggression and Syrian resistance had resulted in the killing of 20 Syrian citizens and the injury of at least 13 Israeli soldiers.

The Israeli army, in contrast, announced that only six of its soldiers were wounded, including two officers and one soldier in critical condition. It claimed the attack was part of “Operation Bashan Arrow,” launched after the fall of the former Syrian government.

The operation, according to the Israeli occupation military, targeted military sites and strategic locations like Mount Hermon (Jabal al-Sheikh). Israel also claimed the operation was aimed at arresting wanted members of the “Islamic Group” who were allegedly involved in planting explosives and firing rockets.

In the wake of these violations, Damascus issued an urgent call for the UN Security Council to act immediately to halt the repeated Israeli aggressions. Syrian sources told Al-Jazeera that Israel is inventing names for militant groups to justify its incursions into Syrian territory.

Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Asaad Al-Shaibani, called on the United Nations, the Security Council, and Arab and Islamic nations to take responsibility regarding the repeated Israeli aggressions. He stated that international silence encourages the aggressor to continue its “crimes against civilians.”

The Israeli military’s actions drew international condemnation. Najat Rochdi, Deputy Special Envoy for the UN to Syria, denounced the Israeli incursion in the Damascus countryside as a grave and unacceptable violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Rochdi called for an immediate cessation of such operations and full adherence to the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement. Separately, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed that Israel would not withdraw from the points it had occupied in Syria.

    • No kidding – and if they want a UN resolution, they will get bigger chunks of territory sliced off and handed to Israel with foreign mercenaries taking over the dirty work for the delicate IDF. Just look at Gaza.

  1. Very funny that Mr. Al-Nusra (or whatever his real name is) thought he was a war hero for driving Assad out, but now he’s whining to the UNSC! The UNSC is “denouncing” Israel’s crimes and “called for” a ceasefire – you can’t get more than that.

Once again, civilians are left to defend themselves. Does Israel know how many of them live in “greater Israel”? The zionists can call them all names and designate them “terrorists” all they want, but Syrians/Lebanese/Palestinians have a right to their own land and to defend themselves. Zionism is done.
