Israeli occupation forces carried out a deadly airstrike and a ground raid in southern Lebanon on Monday, killing three civilians — including a four-year-old child — and abducting a Lebanese political official, in incidents Lebanese sources described as continued violations of the November 2024 ceasefire.
Key Developments
- Israeli airstrike in Yanouh killed three people, including a four-year-old child and his father.
- Strike targeted a civilian vehicle in the Tyre district
- Israeli forces infiltrated al-Habbariyya and abducted an Islamic Group officia
- Lebanon renewed calls for international pressure to enforce the ceasefire
- Israel still occupies several Lebanese positions seized during the latest war.
Airstrike Kills Child and Father in Yanouh
Three people were killed when an Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle in the town of Yanouh in southern Lebanon’s Tyre district, according to Lebanese media and official sources.
Among the victims were four-year-old Ali Jaber and his father Hassan, who were killed instantly in the strike, Al Mayadeen reported. The Lebanese state-run National News Agency confirmed the attack and said it occurred in the center of the town.
The incident marked a new violation of the ceasefire agreement in effect since late 2024. Lebanese reports said Israeli strikes since the truce have killed and wounded hundreds of civilians.
Israeli Forces Abduct Lebanese Islamist Official in South Lebanon Raid
Israel escalated its military campaign against Lebanon into a full-scale war in September 2024 after nearly a year of hostilities beginning in October 2023. The war killed more than 4,000 people and wounded roughly 17,000 others.
Lebanese officials have repeatedly called for international pressure to compel Israel to halt attacks and withdraw from positions it continues to hold in southern Lebanon.
Raid and Abduction in al-Habbariyya
In a separate incident earlier the same day, Israeli occupation forces infiltrated the town of al-Habbariyya in the Hasbaya–Marjeyoun district and abducted Atwi Atwi, a regional official of the Islamic Group (Al-Jama’ah Al-Islamiyah), according to the organization.
The group said Israeli occupation soldiers stormed his home, assaulted family members, and took him to an unknown location, holding Israel responsible for his safety.
It described the operation as part of a pattern of daily violations of Lebanese sovereignty and questioned whether the raid was linked to recent visits by Lebanese officials to southern towns and residents’ reaffirmation of loyalty to the Lebanese state.
Ongoing Ceasefire Violations
Lebanese media reported that Israeli attacks have continued despite the November 2024 ceasefire, including targeted killings and strikes that have left civilian families devastated.

Israel continues to occupy five hilltops captured during the last war as well as other Lebanese areas it has held for decades, while Lebanese factions have affirmed commitment to the truce and demanded full withdrawal.
Officials in Beirut have renewed calls for international intervention to enforce the agreement and prevent further escalation.
