The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas, announced on Sunday that its fighters killed 36 Israeli soldiers and targeted several Israeli tanks on all fighting fronts in the Gaza Strip.

Al-Jazeera reported that the Israeli army acknowledged heavy losses as its soldiers were engaged in fierce battles in the Shejaiya neighborhood in Gaza City and Jabaliya, north of the Gaza Strip.

Fierce Battles

An Al Jazeera correspondent said that several Israeli military helicopters, belonging to Rescue Unit 669, left and returned to various areas in Gaza to transport wounded soldiers to hospitals inside Israel.

The Al-Qassam Brigades broadcast footage of its fighters targeting an Israeli Merkava tank in the Tal Al-Zaatar area in the northern Gaza Strip.

It also announced that its fighters targeted two Israeli tanks in the Mahatta area in Khan Yunis, and another east of the city of Khan Yunis and Rabaa north of Khan Yunis, with Yassin-105 missiles.

Moreover, the Al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement that its fighters targeted an Israeli special force stationed west of Jabalia, killing several soldiers, including an officer.

Earlier on Sunday, Al-Qassam announced that it had eliminated other Israeli soldiers from a zero distance in the Al-Faluga area in the northern Gaza Strip, a sniper in the same area, and a soldier from a zero distance west of the Jabalia camp.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City were witnessing fierce clashes with heavy machine guns.

For his part, Palestinian journalist Anas al-Sharif reported violent clashes between the Resistance and Israeli occupation forces trying to advance deep into the Jabaliya camp.

A source in the Al-Qassam Brigades told Al-Jazeera that the Resistance fighters ambushed two Israeli special forces in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood and the Karama area.

Heavy Losses

Al Jazeera correspondent in the Gaza Strip observed several military helicopters transporting a number of wounded Israeli soldiers as a result of the battles taking place in the Shejaiya and Jabaliya neighborhoods, east and north of Gaza City.

The Israeli army admitted to the killing of 426 soldiers and officers since October 7, including 102 soldiers who fell since the start of the ground invasion on October 27.

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth had previously reported on Saturday that 5,000 Israeli soldiers had been wounded since the beginning of the war.
