Israeli soldiers raided the town and surrounded a building near a school, calling on those inside to come out.

Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a 25-year-old Palestinian physician on Saturday morning, during a military raid of the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Fawaz Amad, the director of Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin, identified the victim as Shamekh Kamal Abu al-Rub.

Eyewitnesses told WAFA that Israeli soldiers raided the town and surrounded a building near a school, calling on those inside to come out.

The soldiers opened fire at residents of the building, killing the physician and injuring two others, including Abu al-Rub’s brother, Mohammad.

WAFA correspondent said Abu al-Rub was shot by live bullets in the abdomen while he and his brother were leaving the surrounded building.

Another youth was shot in the thigh, apparently during confrontations that erupted in the town following the raid.

The Israeli army later ended its siege of the building and withdrew from the town after arresting three people, according to the sources.
