There are no accurate figures for the number of displaced who have left the city, but some families remain. He added that public services in Gaza City have collapsed and the destruction of infrastructure is massive.

ISRAELI ARMY: Israeli Army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said: The incident at the Allenby Crossing was serious and difficult, and lessons will be learned. We will continue reinforcing all defensive elements on the eastern border, and our forces remain on high alert. Strategic and security cooperation with Jordan is important for the army and must be preserved.

PALESTINIAN MEDIA: Two children were killed and several others injured in an Israeli strike on a displacement tent in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis.

AL-JAZEERA: Israeli forces carried out demolitions of homes in the Tel Al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest Gaza City.

According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, diplomatic tensions between France and Israel are rising as Israel considers a strong response to France’s potential recognition of a Palestinian state.

French Reaction

A source close to French President Emmanuel Macron told Le Figaro that the Israeli Foreign Ministry is considering closing the French Consulate General in Jerusalem. The source added that France has the right to refuse such a move and could retaliate against Israel’s embassy in Paris.

A French diplomat stated that France is preparing “very strict measures” against Israel that would go beyond typical reciprocal actions, including the potential expulsion of Israeli diplomats from Paris.

The diplomat also noted that a unified European response with sanctions is impossible because both Germany and Hungary oppose it.

Israeli Stance

An Israeli source told Le Figaro that if France recognizes a Palestinian state, Israel’s response will be to annex West Bank settlements. The report suggests that the extent of Israel’s reaction depends on the magnitude of France’s action.

Israel Prepares Response to France:

According to European officials cited by Politico, Israel is preparing a variety of retaliatory options in response to France and other countries recognizing a Palestinian state.

Potential options reportedly include accelerating the annexation of the West Bank, closing the French consulate in Jerusalem, and targeting French properties in Israel, such as the Christian community of Al-Mazar Elyonah.

US Senate Resolution:

Senator Jeff Merkley, a Democrat, has introduced the first resolution in the US Senate to recognize a Palestinian state alongside Israel. The resolution is co-sponsored by several other senators, including Chris Van Hollen, Tim Kaine, Bernie Sanders, and Peter Welch.

AL-JAZEERA: Algeria’s representative to the UN Security Council, Amar Bendjama, stated that the council’s repeated failure to pass a resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza is a “disgrace.” His comments came after the United States once again used its veto power to block a draft resolution.

PALESTINIAN MEDIA: The Palestinian Telecommunications Company announced that it has successfully restored landline and fixed internet services to northern Gaza, despite the dangerous field conditions caused by ongoing Israeli military operations. According to the official Palestinian news agency, the company’s teams were able to resume service in both Gaza and northern Gaza governorates.

Attacks and Casualties:

Hospital sources in Gaza report that 45 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes since dawn Thursday, with 37 of the deaths in Gaza City.

West Bank Raids:

Separately, the Palestinian Red Crescent says two Palestinians were injured, one by a gunshot and another by beating, during an Israeli raid on the Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem. A doctor was also beaten during a raid on his home in Arraba.

Palestinian Condemnation of US Veto:

The Palestinian Presidency, along with the Islamic Jihad and Hamas movements, condemned the US veto of a UN Security Council resolution that called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. They called the action a form of “complicity” that encourages Israel to continue its crimes and genocide.

French President Emmanuel Macron told Israel’s Channel 12 that the construction of settlements in the West Bank shows that Israel’s goal is not to dismantle Hamas, but to eliminate the two-state solution. The military spokesperson for Ansarallah in Yemen, Yahya Sarea, claimed responsibility for a “qualitative operation” that used a hypersonic ballistic missile to target a military site in the occupied city of Jaffa and three drones to strike targets in Eilat and Beersheba.

Sarea added that the group is committed to supporting the Palestinian people until the attacks on Gaza stop.
