At the end of the 67th day of the Israeli war on Gaza, the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip provided most updated, and comprehensive statistics regarding the devastating impact of the Israeli war.

Though the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza cannot be reduced to numbers and stats, the information below does, in fact, convey a horrific reality that speaks for itself.

Coupled with an endless stream of images and videos emanating from Gaza daily, the numbers below place those images within a larger context – that of the suffering of all Palestinians in the Strip.

Here are the official numbers, according to the Media Office:

67 – the number of days of the Israeli war.

1,644 – the number of massacres committed by Israel.

18,412 – the total number of people killed in Gaza since the start of the war.

8,000 – the number of Palestinian children killed.

6,200 – the number of women killed.

300 – the number of medical staff killed.

32 – the number of Civil Defense workers killed.

86 – the number of journalists killed.

7,700 – the number of Palestinians missing (mostly under the rubble).

50,100 – the total number of wounded.

126 – the number of government headquarters destroyed by Israel.

277 – the number of schools that were partially damaged.

110 – the number of mosques completely demolished.

196 – the number of mosques partially damaged.

3 – the number of churches damaged.

52,500 – the number of housing units completely demolished.

254,000 – the number of housing units partially demolished.

22 – the number of hospitals taken out of service due to Israeli attacks, siege, and raids.

110 – the number of health centers taken out of service due to Israeli attacks, siege, and raids.

102 – the number of ambulances damaged because of Israeli attacks.
