Key Developments
- The UN said Israeli actions displaced around 40,000 Palestinians since the beginning of 2025.
- Israeli demolitions displaced dozens more Palestinians, including children, during the first week of May.

UN Warns of Escalating Displacement
Deputy spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Farhan Haq said Israeli policies and military actions in the occupied West Bank have displaced approximately 40,000 Palestinians since the beginning of 2025, Quds News Network reported.
Speaking during a press conference at United Nations headquarters in New York City, Haq cited data issued by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
According to Haq, settler-backed demolitions carried out during the first week of May alone displaced 42 Palestinians, including 24 children.
The UN official said attacks carried out by Israeli occupation forces and armed Israeli Jewish settlers continue across multiple areas of the West Bank.

Haq stated that illegal settlers frequently carry out attacks against Palestinians and their property while receiving protection from the Israeli army.
He added that the escalation includes raids, arrests, shootings, and what he described as excessive use of force against the indigenous Palestinian population.
According to official Palestinian figures cited in the briefing, Israeli attacks since October 2023 have killed more than 1,155 Palestinians in the West Bank, wounded approximately 11,750 others, and led to nearly 22,000 arrests, including in occupied Jerusalem.
Israeli Raids Sweep West Bank
Meanwhile, QNN reported that Israeli occupation forces carried out a large-scale raid and arrest campaign on Saturday across several West Bank governorates.
Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Jayyous, northeast of Qalqilya, raiding homes and carrying out arrests amid heavy military deployment.
Occupation troops also raided the Jabal Abu Dhahir area in Jenin while conducting military movements in and around the city.

Settlers Burn Vehicle near Taybeh
In the Ramallah area, illegal Israeli Jewish settlers reportedly set fire to a vehicle near the Karamelo roundabout close to the village of Taybeh east of Ramallah.
Israeli occupation forces also raided the nearby city of Al-Bireh amid continued military activity in several neighborhoods.
The developments come amid continued escalation across the occupied West Bank, where Israeli raids, settler attacks, arrests, and demolitions have intensified alongside the genocidal war on Gaza.
